You Have Been Given! (December 25, 2011)

This is the last Sunday of the year 2011, and also the day we celebrate the birth of Christ.  So I say to all, "Merry Christmas!"

His birth was needed so that we can have a second birth...John 3:3 says "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

I heard an advertisement say that not everyone will be given a gift for Christmas.  You can be a "Secret Santa"...

The word "Santa" is from the Spanish and Italian form of "Saint".

The truth is that we have too many "Secret Saints" that are not out telling all that "The Gift of Christmas" has been given to them, not under a tree, but on a tree...JESUS!

I John 5:11 -- "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son."

So everyone has been given The Christmas Gift, but all have not been told, and have not received!

Merry Christ-X! (December 18, 2011)

You see this time of year all kinds of signs because of the Christmas season.  From Merry Christmas...to Happy Holidays. Even Happy Holidays does not upset me, even though it is a Holy Day, not a holiday.

The one sign that burns me is...Merry X-mas.  I am sure some write it with one thing in mind, that it is a short way of saying Christmas, but if one is in such a hurry that they must leave Christ out of anything, they are in too much of a hurry!

I believe the "X-mas" is the Devil's subtle way of taking the glory of the season from Christ.

So I say Merry Christ-X...and a God Blessed New Year!!!!

A Little Wisdom I Read! (December 11, 2011)

The saints should never be dismayed
Nor sink in hopeless fear!
For when they least expect His aid
The Saviour will appear.

Wait for His seasonable aid,
And though it tarry, wait;
The promise may be long delayed
But cannot come too late.

Your Gift List For The Lord Jesus Christ (December 4, 2011)

Matthew 2:11 -- "And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh."

This Christmas, many people who will give gifts to others have not taken any time at all to think about giving a gift to the Lord.

The WISE men gave gifts to Jesus.  Are YOU wise?

I. You could give Jesus your affection.
II. You could give Jesus your apsiration.
III. You could give Jesus your attention.
IV. You could give Jesus your allegiance.

-- Be LOYAL to JESUS! --

A. About your church life.
B. About your character.
C. In your conflicts.
D. In your community.

--These are things you have that you can give--

Anvil! (November 27, 2011)

Last eve I passed a blacksmith's door
And heard the anvil ring the vesper chime
Then looking in I saw upon the floor
Old hammers worn with beating years of time.

"How many anvils have you had" said I
"To wear and batter all these hammers so?"
"Just one" said he and then with twinkling eyes
The anvil wears the hammer out, you know."

And so, thought I, "the anvil of God's Word
For ages skeptics blows have beat upon:
Yet though the noise of falling blows was heard,
The anvil is unharmed, the hammers gone."

"...the Word of God which liveth and abideth forever." ...I Peter 1:23

Thanksgiving For Much! (November 20, 2011)

Last night I drove a van that the Lord gave us, watched a teenage quiz team win the night's quizzing, and saw our church win the attendance banner.  I got to thinking how thankful I am to God!

I am thankful for Teays Valley Baptist Church who decided to give us the vans.  Thankful to the Kinders and the Noels for working with the quiz team.  Thankful for each young heart that desires to study the Bible and be on the team.  For all who come to the meeting and support the youth fellowship.

Here in a few weeks we will be seeing a program with the young people, and I am thankful for all that take the time and are working so hard for that.

We have classes Wednesdays for all ages, and I am thankful for the workers.  Outreaches each Thursday at the nursing home, visitation, and Saturdays they are out door to door soul winning.  Each Saturday we have those working the flea market booth, getting the gospel out.  Bro. Don keeps the tract rack full so we can get the Word out.  We support 25 missionaries at $100 a month through our missions support.  I hear from time to time of the blessing our radio program, website, and CDs are to others.

We have much to be thankful for!

Thanksgiving Celebration (November 13, 2011)

Sunday, January 15, 2012, we will be having a dinner in celebration of the 100 souls that have called on Christ through the Flea Market Ministry.  I call it the Fatted Calf Sunday, because of the fatted calf celebration of the lost son coming home.

The truth is if just one came to Christ, there is a reason to celebrate.  Luke 15:10 says "Likewise I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the anges of God over one sinner that repenteth."

The Bible also teaches in Jeremiah 33:3 -- "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."

When we started this work, I did not expect to even seat as many as we have (412), let alone see 100 call on Christ!  So I prayed, "Lord, please let us see some fruit for the work that is being done."  The "some" I was thinking was not even close to 100 souls!

So let's all still keep praying for the ministry and watch God save another 100 souls!

Thanksgiving (November 06, 2011)

II Timothy 3:2 -- "For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy."

This verse tells of the hearts of men in the last days!  When you look at what is says...lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unholy...all of these are from an unthankful heart.

  • Lovers of their own selves (proud) -- not thankful to others
  • Covetous -- not thankful for what they have
  • Boasters -- not thankful for help given (from God or man)
  • Blasphemers -- not thankful for the life God's given
  • Disobedient to parents -- not thankful for all that they have given
  • Unholy -- will not livef right as God desires, unthankful for His goodness!

As we go into the Thanksgiving season, let's be just that -- thankful!

Faithful Church Attendance (October 30, 2011)

Another reason we as believers should have faithful church attendance..."Because Jesus is Coming!"

Hebrews 10:24 -- "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

The day that is approaching is the return of our Lord!

I John 2:28 says "And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming."

We as believers are to live each day as if Jesus could come, and not staying home worshipping the gospel of St. Mattress, or say you can worship God as well with that fishing pole in your hand!

True believers, when they are not faithful, are ashamed when asked by another believer why they have not been to church.  How much more when you stand before the Lord and are asked by Him!

JUST THINK HOW FAITHFUL JESUS IS TO YOU!

Pastor's Appreciation (October 23, 2011)

Someone, somewhere made the month of October "Pastor Appreciation Month".  I want each to know that this pastor feels appreciated each and every month.

It has been a great 20 years of ministry.  Danette and I do appreciate you.  Thank God not just for calling me and putting me into the pastorate, I am thankful that in this great big world of His, that He placed me here in Pinch WV to pastor the First Baptist Church of Pinch!  Sometimes pastors forget to appreciate the work that has been given to them!

Thank you for the trip.  We had a great time together.  It was the first time in 24 years that we got to spend six days, just her and I.  (I did not even go fishing!)

Bible Reasons For Faithful Church Attendance (October 16, 2011)

Another good reason why you should go to church is because..."Maintain A Good Testimony."

Matthew 5:16 -- "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Your absence from church meeting has a bad and wrong influence on others.  It tells others to stay away too, that the church is not worth going to!

Be careful!  Rightly or wrongly, men see much more in what we do than what we say, and our unfaithfulness just may be the cause of some lost soul remaining lost forever.

Bible Reasons For Faithful Church Attendance (October 9, 2011)

The most powerful reason why any should go to church is because..."It Is God's Plain Command."

Hebrews 10:25 -- "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:  and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

The scripture should settle the matter once and for all.  Faithfulness in attending church services is a command to be obeyed, not an option to be considered.  What we should say is, "God said it, and that settles it!"  Missing church is really an act of disobedience.

The Bible teaches in I John 5:3 that God's commandments are not grievous to believers.  Before I was saved, going to church was grievous, but after salvation, going was joyous.

There is great blessing and strength in being together with God's people in a church meeting.

Bible Reasons For Faithful Church Attendance (October 2, 2011)

I heard a preacher say one day that we live in a "High Steeple, Few People" age.  No doubt a reason for that is because many churches are ice boxes spiritually.

And it is easy to point out and say my church is cold, but you must remember you are that church!  If the church is cold, it is because you are cold, so warm it up!

How?  Faithfulness!  Just faithfully pray for each member, and for the services, ministries, and be active in the work of the church!

Make it a point to be "prayed up" and be ready for church before you come to the meeting!  What a privilege to be part of a "real New Testament Church" that is fundamental in the Bible, and old-fashioned in its worship.

We have a church that is worth being faithful to!

Victory Pizza! (September 25, 2011)

Ecclesiates 12:12 -- "...and much study is a weariness of the flesh."

2 Timothy 2:15 -- "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Today at 6:00 pm, the quiz team will be having victory pizza!  They took first place last night at the Bible quiz.  Last year they took first place for the whole year!

Last night, along with the victory, we had Zach Moore and Joe Sherfey who both quizzed off twice, and we brought home the attendance banner!

To have a winning team, like with any team, it takes practice, discipline, and hearts' desire!  Any time you do anything with the Word of God, you will have the flesh, the world, and the devil to fight!

What I like most of the quiz team, win or lose, is that they have a heart to study the Word of God!  If they never eat another pizza the rest of the year, they will be approved of God for their studying His Word, and that is better than any tropy, or pizza!

Keep On Throwing The Net! (September 18, 2011)

Matthew 4:19 -- "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Mark 1:17 -- "And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men."

I am thankful that we as a church have an understanding of what we are here for...we are to throw our nets out and fish for men.

Each effort, activity, tract, and ministry is to get folk under the word.  We know...(Romans 10:17 -- "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.") the Word with the guidance of the Holy Spirit can do the work in the heart of any man!

Let's keep on throwing the gospel net out, at every opportunity.  If we are followers of Jesus, then we are fishers of men.

Faith Under Attack! (September 11, 2011)

Jude 1:3 -- "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once dellivered unto the saints."

Today we have the 10th Anniversary of the attack on America.  If you really study it out, you will see it is our faith under attack!

In our nation still today we have liberty to go out without any problem with government and share our faith.  Yesterday morning Ben took out some of the youth on soul-winning, door to door.  Yes, they woke some up, etc...but no jail, etc...

So I say to each one that was out last week at any time, handed a tract, witnessed for Christ, worked a ministry...

...Keep on...

"...earnestly contend for the faith wich was once delivered unto the saints."

Labor Day (September 4, 2011)

We are enjoying blessings all over our nation because of the labor force of our country.  God has blessed our land with willing and skilled people.

We also enjoy blessings, no just physical, but spiritual blessings because of the labor of others.  God has blessed our country with willing and skilled believers who love to labor for the Lord and His work.

Tomorrow as you enjoy the "Labor Day," be sure to stop and think of all who have and are laboring so that you can enjoy the blessings you do have today!

I Thess 1:3 -- "Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;"

I Thess 5:17 -- "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially who labor in the word and doctrine."

What The Bible Is About... (August 28, 2011)

I.  Describes the Person of God...All His attributes:  His is eternal, unchanging, Holy, creator of all, (no big bang just a BIG GOD), righteous, good, full of mercy, grace, and love...

II.  Describes the Problem Facing Mankind...How it started in the garden, when Adam sinned...

III.  Describes the Provision of the Savior...He lives evermore.

IV.  Describes the future of Mankind...Man with Christ as Savior, has a home in Heaven.  Man who has not taken Jesus for salvation for any reason will face the Lake of Fire!

Read your Bible and see for yourself!

The Generation To Come (August 21, 2011)

As I stood looking through the glass window at another generation, the nurse was giving him his first bath, etc, I thought...

I am a first generation Christian.  Danette and I started as Christians, and raised three children in what we learned is pleasing to God.  Now, a second generation Christian will be raising what we hope to be a third generation Christian.

What went through my mind was...

Will the Lord come before he comes of age to be saved?  How young will he be when he calls on Christ?  I hope to do my part as a Grandpa to help him come to know Christ...

Psalm 78:4 -- "We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done."

Psalm 78:6 --"That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children."

Anniversary Sunday!! (August 14, 2011)

155 Years Old!!

Another year in the life of First Baptist Church of Pinch.  We are still preaching, and teaching from the King James Bible, the music is right, and we do what we can to reach the lost both here and world-wide!

The Lord has kept His hand on this church.  Pastors and members have come and gone throughout the years, while each were faithful as a good steward of the Lord.

We today, as members, have been handed a good heritage, one to be thankful for.

And if the Lord has not come a year from now, and we have our 156th Anniversary, I pray we can still say the same as we can today...

"We are faithful to a faithful God!"

A True Path To Follow! (August 7, 2011)

Paul said more than once that others can follow his example of a believer!

I Corinthians 11:1 -- "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ."

I Corinthians 4:16 -- "Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

Phillipians 3:17 -- "Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample."

II Thessalonians 3:9 -- "Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us."

As a believer, your life should be lieved in such a way that you can say to others, "I am following Christ, my ways are pleasing to God,, so watch me, i will be an example for you to follow!

I Timothy 4:12 -- "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

Let The Bible In! (July 31, 2011)

Christians are called people of faith.  To be people of faith, we must be "People of the Book."  The Bible teachess that faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

I talked with so many that would say they are people of faith, but know nothing of the Bible!  The practice nothing of the Bible.  If you are saved by faith, you are saved by trusting what the Bible teaches.  If you walk by faith, you walk according to how the Bible teaches.  If you live by faith, you live by the teaching of the Bible.

I see the Laodicean church today.  Is a church that assembles, says God, sings God, believes they are doing well, but leaves the Bible teaching (The Word of God) outside the door?

Let's be sure to always let the Bible in!

Steps Taken As God Leads (July 24, 2011)

Proverbs 16:9 -- "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps."

Twenty years ago today I preached my first sermon here at Pinch.  The wife was back in NC with our 4 year old and our new baby.

I left her and the kids with the idea that this could be the place where the Lord would have me to Pastor.  On October 3, 1991, we moved in, and took the Pastorate of The First Baptist Church of Pinch.

Only the Lord could have even gotten the news to my ears of this church, and to open the heart of the people, who many days later I learned were not in good harmony with each other.

As the Bible teaches that the Lord directs the steps of a man, I am glad for the steps taken twenty years ago.  I thank God for this spot in His vineyard to serve Him, and that He has directed your steps as well to serve Him here!

All Joking Aside...I Did Not Know What I Got! (July 17, 2011)

Monday July 18th will be 26 years ago I stood before God and other witnesses and promised to love, honor, and cherish...Danette M. Roe, and she did the same and took my name and followed me.

I took her miles away from her family, and in 26 years we never moved close to them.  I took her through some hard times and places following what I believed was the Lord's will for our life!

July 18, 1985, I did not know what I got!

But now 26 years later, I know what God gave me for a help meet, life's partner, and co-servant was just what I needed and do not deserve.  Like many other blessings in my life, I find that I am not as thankful for her as I should be.  So I write today before God and each witness that reads this:  "I am thankful for what was given to me by God 26 years ago, and all the blessings I have in life because of her!"

Proverbs 31:28 -- "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."

I Found This And Thought You'd Enjoy! (July 10, 2011)

What Is Easy Is Not Always Right

What is easy is not always right; It's easier to give up than it is to fight;

To quit serving God and take a rest, May be easier, but it's not the best.

What is easy is not always right; It takes some effort to turn on a light;

To sit in the darkness or hide in the crowd is easier but stand up, and speak good and loud!

Take a stand for the Lord, and do it today!  Never drop out, though other folks may;

One day you will say without any remorse:  I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course.

Thought You'd Enjoy! (July 3, 2011)

For feelings come and feelings go

And feelings are deceiving.

My warrant is the Word of God,

Naught else is worth believing.

Though all my heart should feel condemned,

For want of some sweet token,

There is One greater than my heart,

Whose Word cannot be broken.

I'll trust in God's unchanging Word,

Till soul and body sever.

For though all things shall pass away,

His Word shall stand forever.

The Last Days. . . (June 26, 2011)

Look around and see the characteristics of the "Last Days" as described in the Bible...Matthew 24:4-14:

  • False Christianity - vs. 5, 11
  • National Conflicts - vs. 6, 7
  • Natural Disasters - vs. 7
  • Abounding Sin - vs. 12
  • World-wide Gospel Preaching - vs. 14

You can summarize the times we live in as...Moral Decay, Spiritual Falling Away, Natural Disasters, and at the same time, the Gospel is world-wide!

And as best as I understand the Bible, there is NO prophecy that requires fulfillment at this present age before the Rapture can occur...the event of the rapture is imminent, it can happen at any time!

Be ready!  How?  By accepting Christ for salvation.  Hey!  He could come even before this service sings the first hymn!

We Bountifully Sowed! (June 19, 2011)

2 Corinthians 9:6 -- "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully."

You would have to say that two weeks of VBS is bountifully sowing the seed.  Do not think for a moment each one of our efforts, from cookies to crafts, will go unrewarded.  Always remember that our labor for the Lord is never in vain... 1 Corinthians 15:58..."Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Why, I still today can remember VBS lessons, and songs from the time I was a child...I believe they were a strong reason for my accepting Christ at the age of 18.  And I know they will be for the many that we were blessed to instruct these past two weeks!

Rest up, for if the Lord doesn't come by June 4, 2012, it will be VBS time!!

Give Me A Dirty Crib... (June 12, 2011)

Proverbs 14:4 -- "Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox."

I was telling someone the other day that you can not have nice things if you have nice things if you have children or pets.  But I'll take the dirty crib with children any day.

I go into a house and some will say excuse the mess.  There will be a toy here, things out of place, a cup, bowl, etc.  Then I say to them that is not a mess, that is life.  Boy we have had a lot of life here last week, and will have this week to come.  So if you find a Tootsie Roll stuck some where, a scribble, etc...it is not a mess, it is life.  Some churches (cribs) are too clean, and I pray ours never gets that way!

VBS - It's Time! (June 5, 2011)

II Corinthian 9:6 -- "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully"

The next two weeks we will be sowing bountifully.  Each of us have a part in the work of God.  Let us all be sure to find that place and do our part.

In the days ahead we will also reap bountifully!  The law of the harvest is...

- You reap what you sowed.

- You reap more than you sowed.

- You reap later than you sowed.

So we will plant and water, and God will give the increase.

Warning! (May 29, 2011)

I love to hear the drug adds on TV.  They talk for a moment about what the drug will help, then give a long list of possible side effects.  I found this Warning label I thought you might enjoy...

    WARNING!

BIBLE usage can be habit forming.  Regular reading can caues loss of anxiety and fear; decreased appetite for lying, cheating, stealing, hating, anger and envy.

Symptoms include increased sensation of love, compassion and contentment.  If symptoms persist, just praise the Lord.

Repeat this to others if you don't mind side effects of the Word.

He will take the hurt away.

Who Knows? (May 22, 2011)

Well, one thing I know, Mr. Camping does not know when the end of the world is.  Jesus said that one day this earth will pass away along with heaven.  He also said, NO MAN, or angel, but the Father only knows the day!

Matthew 25:35-36 -- "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.  But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."

Who knows when that day is...it is at least 1,007 years from the very moment you read this.  The Lord's taking of the saved (rapture) could be at any time!  Then there will be 7 years of trouble, then 1,000 years as Jesus rules on this very earth!

A greater question:  Who knows the day when you will die?  You know you will!  So the biggest question is, ARE YOU READY FOR THAT DAY?  If you have not accepted Christ for salvation, you are not ready!  So get ready today!  Who knows if you even have all of this day?

Start Praying Now! (May 15, 2011)

James 5:16 -- "...the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

VBS is just around the corner.  Two weeks of teaching, preaching, reaching with the Truth of God's Word!  We have classes for all ages, but the focus of VBS is towards the Youth.  And it is my belief that the devil will not give up this ground without a fight!

So let's start preparing now for the battle that is ahead.  The Bible teaches us to put on the armor of God with the shield of faith, and the Bible is our sword.  Then the Bible teaches us to Pray!!

Ephesians 6:18-19 -- "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints: and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel."

Start Praying Now!!

The Quitter (May 8, 2011)

I have taught a class for many years,
Borne many burdens, toiled through tears;
But folks don't notice me a bit.
I'm so discouraged--I'll just quit.

Some time ago I joined the choir
That many souls I might inspire;
But folks do not seem moved a bit,
So, what use to sing?  I'll just quit!

I've labored long in women's work,
And not a task did ever shirk;
But folks have talked a little bit,
And I won't stand it.  I'll just quit!

I've led young people day and night
And sacrified to lead them right,
But folks won't help me out a bit,
And I'm so tired, I think I'll quit!

Christ's cause is hindered everywhere,
And folks are dying in despair.
The reason why?  Just a bit;
The church is full of folks who quit!

How Many Sunsets? (May 1, 2011)

Ephesians 4:26-27 -- " Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.  Neither give place to the devil."

I believe the devil gets many victories in believers' lives simply because they go to bed angry.

Who or what are you angry with today?  How many sunsets have you let go down, and still have not dealt with that anger?

Because of many sunsets the devil has a very comfortable place in your life!  All his desire is in your life is to destroy!  if the anger is with another, the Bible teaches us to go and tell the other...Matthew 18:15--"Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone:  if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother."  Tell alone...(Not to others in prayer meeting, or a Facebook page, etc...)

If the anger is over things in life, get alone with God before sunset.  Remember Romans 9:28-29!

One sunset is too many...any place in your life is too much to give to the devil!

The Greatest Message Ever Told (April 24, 2011)

Matthew 28:6 -- "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.  Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

Of all recorded, and not recorded human history, the most important message that has ever been heard is...He is not here: for he is risen.

I am glad that I not only know this great truth, because of recorded history.  I know this truth because of personal history.  Almost 28 years ago I called on Jesus to save my hell-bound soul!  Accepted that fact that Jesus is alive, and lives to save sinners.  I am also glad that He will save any and all who call upon His name.

The greatest message every told, and that I ever heard.  I am glad to be one of the few still telling it today!

Triumphal Entry (April 17, 2011)

If you happen to look on the calendar today, you will notice it is marked, "Palm Sunday," the day when our Lord rode into Jerusalem, on an unbroken colt.

I remember the day when Our Lord made his Triumphal Entry into my life.  The calendar date was May 31, 1983...He broke the unbroken colt (of my will), and saved my soul!

I today wave palm branches in praise before Him.  For who he Is...King of Glory, and for what He has done.

The important thing today is...has Jesus made that Triumphal Entry into your life?  If He has, your will has been broken to follow His will.  You too, have a few palm branches to wave!

Thoughts on Mistakes (April 3, 2011)

The greatest mishap is not to have failed, but to have failed to try.

God never makes us conscious of our weakness except to give us His strength.

A mishap is evidence that someone has tried to do something.

Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you can't make yourself as you wish to be.

Before you flare up at anyone's fautls, take time to count to ten...and then think of your own.

Accepting Grace (March 27, 2011)

1 Peter 5:10 -- "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus..."

Grace cannot be bouth, but it can be secured only as a gift.  You try to buy it, you have missed it!

Wonderful love that Thought it;
Wonderful birth that Brought it;
Wonderful death that Wrought it;
Wonderful words that Taught it. . .Grace.

Grace is the attitude of God toward us in Christ...what a wonderful thing God has done in providing the riches of His Grace, to all who will accept it!

I am glad for the day when I did nothing but accept what God has offered to me...The Gift of God!

Show Me God! (March 20, 2011)

A fellow said to me yesterday while working our witnessing booth at the Flea Market..."You show me God..."

I said, "Come back and sit down, and let us open the Bible and we will show you God."  Well, he must not have wanted to see God, because he did not let us show him the scriptures.

We know we can not prove God, but we are not told to prove God.  The Bible does not prove God, it just starts off by saying that GOD IS...  Genesis 1:1 -- "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."  Yet, we sure can show them God!

The man said he was not a believer.  I only know one way to make an unbeliever a believer, and that it is to show him what the Bible says.

Romans 10:17 -- "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

The faith that man needed can only come from the Bible, and we wanted to show him.  Without the Bible, he will not see God!
